The Dark Knight Review

The Dark Knight

So we are onto The Dark Knight the second movie in The Dark Knight Trilogy. Now at the end of Batman Begins Batman/ Bruce saved Gothem from The Scarecrow and at the end of Batman Begins we saw Jim Gordon give Batman a card that had The Joker on it so we knew that we were going to see The Joker in this one. So this one was better than Batman Begins it was just awesome a lot have said that this movie is one of the greatest comic book movies of all time, and it is! So in this one Batman, Gordon, and Harvey Dent decide that they are going to clean up the city of the mobs and in attempting to do so The Joker comes into town to wreck havoc, so they need to work together to take down The Joker as well. So again the acting is just amazing from all of the old cast that returned. We also have two new comers one is Araon Eckhart who plays Harvey Dent and he is just excellent. We also have Heath Ledger who plays The Joker and holy freaking crap he is just amazing. A lot of people were upset by this casting at first but then they saw the movie and saw how great of a performance he gave. I think this is due in part to Christopher Nolan I feel like he just pulls out the actor in peoples and he just pulls out amazing performances. Heath won himself an Oscar for this role and unfortunately he died before he could accept this Oscar, but he definitely deserved it. Also there is a recasting Katie Holmes was replaced by Maggie Gyllenhall in her role of Rachel and in my opinion she was just better in this role, I think Katie did great in Batman Begins but she did even better, I just loved her performance. Now I loved the story of this movie it was just so great! I absolutely loved the script and the story it was just perfect! I really love how they intorudced The Joker in the first two scenes we see him in its just amazing it really shows how crazy and awesome he is. I'm sorry but I'm just going to be talking about The Joker a lot he is just that awesome but he sis just amazing he's such a unique character and crazy and awesome and creepy and even scary at times and I loved it!!! Nolan just made the best Joker ever! Nolan just made the most amazing Joker he just could not of been better!!! I really don't think this Joker can ever be beat. I love The Joker because of the fact that I don't really think he has a point he just wants to cause chaos and I love that, Alfred give a line in the movie that I like and I think it sums up this Joker perfectly he says "Some people just want to watch the world burn". This is just so true and this is really what The Joker is in this movie. He doesn't care, he kills, he blows things up he's just awesome!!!! I also love that Joker is trying to get Batman to kill and just tear him apart I just love that about him again it's just nuts and crazy. Now this movie won another Oscar for sound editing and it deserved that. It also got nominated for cinematography, film editing, art direction, makeup, sound mixing and visual effects. So for cinematography it lost to Slumdog millionaire and even though I hated that movie it did deserve to win that movie looked great. For film editing it lost to Slumdog and I didn't fell it should have won that one either Dark Knight or Benjeman Button should have won in my opinion. For Art Direction it lost to Benjamin Button and I felt that movie deserved that. For best makeup it lost to Benjamin Button and that movie definitely deserved that but The Dark Knight did fantastic with that as well The Joker just looked fantastic. For sound mixing it lost to Slumdog and I don't really care about this one but I think it deserved it more than Slumdog. Visual effects was the last one and it lost to Benjamin Button which had great visual effects, but Nolan actually did most of the effects seen in the movie, he flipped a freaking semi for the love of god sakes. So I felt it should have won. But anyway another great movie and another great part to the Dark Knight Trilogy, this movie keeps you on edge and is just awesome and suspenseful I loved every second of it  if you haven't seen then you need to see and I'm kinda of mad that you haven't seen it. It's just that good!!

So what are the people saying? Well good things mostly. There are a few saying this movie is a mess and choppy and all over the place which is just wrong in my opinion I loved this movie every bit of it and like I said above I feel that the story is just perfect. A few thought the film was super predictable and I don't agree with that as I said I'm my Batman Begins Review Nolan is good at adding in great twists and turns that you don't see coming and I just loved what he did with this movie was well. So other than those little things the movie has done well.

As for a ratting I'm going to give The Dark Knight a 10/10!

So what did you think? Did you agree?

Let me know and thanks for reading!!!

Stay tuned for the last review in the Dark Knight Trilogy!!
